Fan
We teach three Fan solo Forms
Solo Fan Form
The fan is the first “weapon” that most people learn in our school. Placing a fan into your hand and harmonising it with the graceful movements of Tai Chi develops not only your health, but strengthens your health and calms your mind. There are currenlty 8 sections to the basic form, before students can progress, if they wish, to the 4 polishing sections. Next Dates are 14th January, 17th March, 19th May, 14th July, 15th September, 17th November 2012
Double Fan Form
This form will really sharpen your mind, controlling two fans at the same time extends your skills to a new level. All of the benefits from your Solo Fan Form are advanced to an even greater degree. This form is amazing to watch as the movements of the fan are harmonised with the Tai Chi footwork. Next Dates are 14th January, 17th March, 19th May, 14th July, 15th September, 17th November 2012
Solo Fan Long Form
This form is considerably longer and even more elegant than the first solo form. The movements are more sophisticated and intricate developing great poise, control and energy.
Moving the Centre Yang Style Long Form
This form builds on the basic and polishing levels. The Form is a more precise and flowing version of that already learned with emphasis on using the whole body as one to build chi and circulate it around the body. Next Dates are 10th December 2011 then 18th Feb, 14 April, 16th June, 18th August, 20th October and 9th December 2012
Shaolin Kung Fu
The emphasis of these seminars is on gaining fitness, having fun and learning a lot of practical self defence. This is not a seminar where super fit people fight for two hours. The training is progressive so as long as you are healthy you can gradually build up fitness as you go along. Northern Kung Fu places emphasis on using kicks and long range strikes with the hands. Southern Kung Fu tends to use the hands, elbows and low kicks. Next Dates are all of those listed below for weapons and form ie we have one seminar per month.
Bagua – New Date 10th December
Baguazhang as it is called traditionally, is one of the three internal arts along with Tai Chi and Xsingyi. It is like no other art in all of its techniques are based on circles and spirals. In fact the exercise called the Circling Dragon is done while moving around in a circle. Baguazhang was developed in the Taoist temples of northern China.
