Tai Chi and Mindfulness Meditation

It was interesting to see the other day that someone is running courses on Mindfulness meditation for companies.  I would never have thought that mindfulness meditation would have been that popular with large companies.  Don’t get me wrong, mindfulness is a very powerful tool for gaining control over your thought processes, just not very corporat-ie – for want of a better word.   Tai Chi is also mindfulness meditation in motion.  That rapt concentration in trying to do each movement as perfectly as possible, quietens the mind and softens the body.  This quietness does not only last while you are doing the exercise, but with practise can last the whole day through.  With the quiet also comes clarity of thought and the stilling of the “chatterbox” inside your head.  Everyone knows about the chatterbox, that little nasty piece of your mind that always tells you that you can’t, it might end in disaster etc.  Tai Chi can still that little pest and leave you feeling confident and in control.
